@mlk - it's not the clubs as much as it it getting in touch with the people who are booking the parties, like SPIN, ASCAP, that sort of thing. We've got a line on a couple of potential extras.

try Transmission Entertainment, (http://www.transmissionentertainment.com)
They run/ book some of the clubs in town. The Mohawk would be a great place to see you play.

If you can, play a show after SXSW, so i have the chance to see you more than once. Since i have to wait 21 years to see you again. Two or three shows in Austin would work for me. :)

Yep, it's those parties/showcases that I'm trying to crack. We should know more about our slot this week. Will post when we know it!

Hey Francois -

Oh yes, I know the Black Angels. I saw the SxSW 07 dates, as I was there! They're also on the mighty Light in the Attic label, run by friends of mine up here in Seattle. Thanks for the info.

Hi Steve,

A band I've been listening to a lot in recent times (The Black Angels) actually comes from Austin; on the past shows page on their site here http://www.theblackangels.com/shows.php?ShowList=OLD
are listed a lot of places there (are they clubs, party places or else I don't know) where they have played last year.

Hope it might provide some help.

Kind regards,
Francois.

I'll be there. Both Waterloo Records and Cheapo Discs have in-store performances during the festival. In addition, there are a plethora of non-official performances that take place during the daytime. For example (not that you are from Australia), but last year there was an "Aussie Picnic" one day that had a lot of Aussie bands playing. I think there was also an event for UK bands. Record labels hold similar events (I always attend the New West event). Not sure how you latch on to these opportunities.
