Mine will always be the Telecaster....Even though mine is a cheap Fender Squire..... I blame Chuck Prophet, he still uses his to this day, you very rarely see him use anything else.......Strummer as well, Hugh Cornwell too and Richard Thompson their all to blame.

Count me in on that list--I've used Teles almost my entire guitar-playing life. Favoring a '72 Custom black Tele... don't say a word. My arsenal also veers towards my Gibson SG (had to do it), Epiphone Casino (sunburst, '66 model - very light and great action) and my Rickenbacker 330 (no Weller jokes, thank you very much). Occasionally I use a candy apple Strat to pretend I'm some guitar hero. But Teles RULE.

All my heroes use(d) Teles: Townshend, Weller, Marriott, Partridge, Mr. R. Gorman, J. O'Neill, Diggle, Wakeling, Alan Gill of the Teardrop, Cornwell, the good Captain Sensible, Syd--EVERYONE, so why not me?

I still use my Roland JC 120 amp, which I've used since '83, so it's a solid rig.

Still also have a Casio keyboard from those golden '80's!

Thanks to Mr. Gorman's prodding a few years ago, I finally got into the modern world and started recording digitally on a Fostex 8 track.

Ahh the Gibson SG or as afriend of mine used to call it "The Devil Guitar", he always thought the body resembled 2 devil horns! Angus still uses his...though I doubt it's still the same one.

I was hesitant for a long time on getting an SG as it was something of a '70's cliche, but then I remembered Harrison used one in the "Paperback Writer" and "Rain" videos, Weller used one on the American T.V. show "Fridays" when they did "Start!" live, Brian James used one and I think Mr. J.J. O'Neill used one on "A Million Miles Away". Plus, I found a brand new one with split coil humbucking pickups in a worn cherry finish at a staggeringly low price, so I figured what the hell. Used it a lot recording The Punch Line album. Like the Epiphone, it's very light, which is good for me as I have a bad back.

I can't believe I omitted one of the most important on my list of heroes/influences who used the Tele--the late D. Boon of The Minutemen (from whence The Punch Line got their name). His treble/scratch style with the Tele made me rethink my whole strategy in '84 after we'd morphed out of Two Minutes Hate...

The Gibson played by Geordie of Killing Joke makes a most excellent noise!
