Okay, I’ve been slacking off. Well, actually I haven’t, since I’m back in school and I have a million and one things to do. But I have been neglecting this site, and that’s not good. Time to get active again!
We’re working out the details for our trip to Austin in six weeks. Six weeks! Holy moly that’s not far away. Is anyone out there planning on coming to SxSW? We’ll let you know when we’re playing, which we should find out in the next week. We’re also trying to see if we can play anywhere else while we’re there, like a party or a radio station or record store – whatever.
If anyone out there has any ideas or offers, we’re all ears! Hook us up!

I’ll be there. Both Waterloo Records and Cheapo Discs have in-store performances during the festival. In addition, there are a plethora of non-official performances that take place during the daytime. For example (not that you are from Australia), but last year there was an “Aussie Picnic” one day that had a lot of Aussie bands playing. I think there was also an event for UK bands. Record labels hold similar events (I always attend the New West event). Not sure how you latch on to these opportunities.
A band I’ve been listening to a lot in recent times (The Black Angels) actually comes from Austin; on the past shows page on their site here http://www.theblackangels.com/shows.php?ShowList=OLD
are listed a lot of places there (are they clubs, party places or else I don’t know) where they have played last year.
Hope it might provide some help.
… and the year before (check the Sept’07 dates in particular).
Hey Francois –
Oh yes, I know the Black Angels. I saw the SxSW 07 dates, as I was there! They’re also on the mighty Light in the Attic label, run by friends of mine up here in Seattle. Thanks for the info.
Yep, it’s those parties/showcases that I’m trying to crack. We should know more about our slot this week. Will post when we know it!
try Transmission Entertainment, (http://www.transmissionentertainment.com)
They run/ book some of the clubs in town. The Mohawk would be a great place to see you play.
If you can, play a show after SXSW, so i have the chance to see you more than once. Since i have to wait 21 years to see you again. Two or three shows in Austin would work for me. 🙂
@mlk – it’s not the clubs as much as it it getting in touch with the people who are booking the parties, like SPIN, ASCAP, that sort of thing. We’ve got a line on a couple of potential extras.
