Quick End of Tour Note

Hey All –

We’re all back and in one piece, suffering a bit, but that’s to be expected. I know we fell way behind on our daily posts, and after the right bollocking our lighting engineer gave us one night (thank you, Kate!), we promise that we won’t disappear like we did last year.

We’ve got photos from the tour, some video, and plenty of stories and recollections. Plus, we’ve got news about upcoming dates for 2009 and beyond.

I’ll try to post more this evening after work, but please bear in mind that we’re all straight back at work and have to fit all this in between family, friends, pets, work, etc.

Most of all – THANK YOU!!!! The entire tour was a blast and we got to hang out with a lot of you, in fact quite a few of you multiple times. You’re the reason we’re doing this, and will continue to do so.

  1. Glad that you had a blast on tour and real pleased that more dates are to come..hey maybe even new material!!!!! Bless you all.

  2. The more you give us, the more we want…any chance of US dates?! I’ll help with the promotion.. 😉

  3. @Kate – I didn’t say *which* Kate, did I?

@Paulb33 – really? You’re on. Robin got us tons of local press in Manchester, so we truly BELIEVE in our fans’ ability to help us out. News about US imminent…

  4. Got to say I’m really pleased you had a great time. I certainly did on the 2 occasions I saw you, and I suspect that any future gigs will be well-attended thanks to word-of-mouth from people who came along this time if nothing else.

As far as releases go I don’t know if you recorded any of the shows with a view to putting them out, but how about doing something with the Final Flame missing tracks in the meantime??????

Anyway, enjoy time back with the families and hopefully I’ll be seeing you sometime soon!

  5. Just to pick out a few things that made it a special night [london]:

A lot of affection floated both ways between you boys and fans, that was great to see but the evident fun and affection between you boys as you were playing, well that was something special.

Thanks for allowing my missus to see that my wasted youth was worthwile wasting, she has not stopped raving about the gig. Please come back and play again.

Finally, hats off to whoever organised the venue. Over 20 odd years of gigs and never visited the Bloomsbury Ballroom. Great bar, excellent gig venue and building, 1st class.

Thanks boys, fantastic night and I even replaced my original Scumsurfer T shirt with a new original Scumsurfer T shirt [cheers to the T shirt man for that], have a rest and come back soon.

  6. I’d just like to thank you (and your families for letting you) take the time out of your lives to give us that tour – even if I only made it to one gig – it was fantastic, words fail.

And more for 2009 and beyond!!!???? We are beyond lucky – cheers chaps – looking forward to more Petrol-ness SOON!

    Mary x

  7. Nice to hear that you had a great time touring again, and from the feedback here and the forum I certainly missed out on some great stuff! Keep up the fun and I for one am realling looking forward to the opportunity to see you live again!

  8. Great to hear that everything went so well with the tour. Can’t wait for next Dublin gig, its been way too long gentlemen. Couldn’t get to any of the gigs this time due to work, holidays so can’t wait to make up for it next time. Any chance that t-shirts would be available to buy on the website at some stage?
